In a small, square Pyrex dish, layer the following from the bottom up:

            Cream cheese
            chili
            salsa or taco sauce           
            cheddar cheese                                     
            Monterey Jack Cheese
            Jalapenos
            Black olives

Microwave for 2-3 minutes until warm.   Serve with Tortilla chips.

The Revenant - Bear Claws

  • 1 (17.3-ounce) package frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1 (12-ounce) can almond filling
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Coat 2 baking sheets with cooking spray. 

  2. Cut each pastry sheet into 9 (3-inch) squares. Place about 2 teaspoons almond filling onto one side of square. Fold dough over and press edges to seal. Cut 4 slits about 1/2-inch apart along edge of dough. Curve pastry slightly to resemble claws and place on baking sheets. 
     
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together egg yolk and water; brush egg mixture over pastries and sprinkle evenly with almonds.
     
  4. Bake 15 to 18 minutes, or until golden. Remove from baking sheets to a wire rack; cool.
     
  5. In a small bowl, whisk confectioners' sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over pastries and serve.

  • 4 peaches, pitted and cut into 1/2" wedges
  • 1.5 pounds cooked boneless skinless chicken breast, cubed
  • 8 slices cooked bacon, cut into 1" pieces
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 15 ounces BBQ sauce
  • 2 17.25-ounce packages frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Place peaches on a parchment or silicone lined baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes or until softened and fork tender.
  3. In a large bowl, stir together peaches, chicken, bacon, cheese and 3/4 bottle of bbq sauce.
  4. Cut each puff pastry sheet in half to form 8 rectangles and place on parchment lined baking sheets.
  5. Dividing evenly, top half of each rectangle with the chicken mixture.
  6. Brush inside edge of puff pastry with egg and fold over filling. Crimp the three open edges with fork to seal and brush top of each turnover with egg.
  7. Bake until golden, 18 to 20 minutes.
  8. Serve immediately with remaining bbq sauce for dipping.
