Hooray for the BAFTAS!  This weekend, The Hurt Locker continued its hot streak by nabbing the Best Picture and Best Director topohies at the British Film ceremony, leaving Avatar in the dust.  While this is very good news for the indie in its quest to capture the Oscar in 2 weeks, it certainly doesn't clinch the deal: let's not forget that Cameron's Titanic was a complete shut out at the BAFTAS and went on to tie Ben Hur for the most Oscars given to one picture.  Still, this certainly gives "The Hurt Locker" a strong edge in the home stretch.  I just hope Oscar voters aren't beginning to see Avatar as the "underdog."
